I have a JDM EF9 Si-R and was just doing a suspension swap. Because of the heavier than standard motor, the front suspension needs to be heavier. In this case, rather than go with the standard JDM setup, I got a set of lower wishbones (the ones that the shocks slot into) from an EG (5th Gen) Civic. This allowed me to use EG shock absorbers which are slightly thicker and displace more volume. They are about 2-3mm wider in diameter. It all bolted up without any problems at all. It's a nice touch if you are dropping a ZC or B16A into your 4G Civic as it helps balence out the extra weight up front.

BTW, credit where it's due - the idea came from a fellow HCC member who has a wealth of information on tweaking Hondas 8-)
